| Notes: Statesville Crit as part of the Crossroads Classic. Got in a break of 4 right away that ended up lapping the field. Was kind of blown at the end and couldn't sprint. Got 4th. Power data between the Quarq and iBike looks very good after putting on a new chain today. |

Avg Watts:173w Duration: 4h15m |
| Notes: This is the Power Tap data for the other ride on July 17th so you can see how it syncs with the Quarq and the iAero. Just go to features, power meter comparison, and then add this file. Despite the date on here, this file is also from July 17th. |

Avg Watts:179w Duration: 4h15m |
| Notes: Good four hour ride with a lot of varying terrain. I did this with Quarq, iAero, and a Power Tap. The Power Tap data is in the other file for this date. |

Avg Watts:170w Duration: 3h06m |
| Notes: Easy ride for a couple hours and then three repeats of Paris. Tried not to kill it on them, just ride threshold. The first two went good, but the third one I was just trying to get over the climb. Legs were wrecked after motorpacing and then a training race yesterday. |

Avg Watts:158w Duration: 2h1m |
| Notes: Easy ride in Jersey the day after Iron Hill. My left leg cramped up bad on the way home from the race last night and was really sore today. I tried a few efforts, but it wasn't worth going hard and I decided to make this more of a recovery ride. |

Avg Watts:215w Duration: 1h50m |
| Notes: Iron Hill Twilight Crit. Race started off really fast from the gun. I had a good spot lining up and was sure to stay in the top 20 wheels for the race. At the end only 40 people were left in the race (out of 120 that started). I got kind of timid in the final laps in the dark and finished 29th. Average for the crit was 255 (both Quarq and iBike) |

| Notes: Avery Trace criterium. Lot of attacks going all day but nothing stuck until the end when Spencer and I got up the road. Thad then bridged up and the three of us worked the break pretty good with Spencer taking the win, myself in 5th and Thad 6th. This file has the Quarq and iAero data. |

| Notes: First ride with the Quarq and the Iaero on my road bike. Both data files are included in this download. They match up very closely, with some great cda data in there as well. |

Avg Watts:197w Duration: 2h50m |
| Notes: Tonight we had a Thursday night training crit. I rode Paris Mountain before and then rode over to the crit so I had about 2 hours when we started. I put in a few small attacks at the start of the race, then Thad launched a big one. I covered wheels and was able to get across to him with one junior. From there it was full on and we eventually lapped the field with Thad winning and myself taking second. |

Avg Watts:224w Duration: 3h19m |
| Notes: Very hard day. I made my way down to the Tuesday night race and attacked pretty much from the gun. A group of 4 joined me and we spent the next 38 miles in a rotating paceline. I was pulling as hard as I could everytime to get in the good workout and made sure I got in a good workout. Average for the break was 267. |

Avg Watts:182w Duration: 1h42m |
| Notes: Criterium at RFK stadium in Washington DC. This was a dead flat course and not very technical. Chances were very high that it was going to be a field sprint so I sat in waiting for the finale. I was very aggressive in the last few laps and got myself in perfect position until about 500 meters to go when I got bumped hard from the right side, lost momentum, and then got swarmed. Finished a disappointing 12th when I should have been on the podium. |

Avg Watts:176w Duration: 3h08m |
| Notes: Started off feeling horrible. 4 days off the bike from a cold have left my legs feeling very stale. By the time I got to the Tuesday night race, they were feeling better, but the race got shortened because of really big thunderstorms moving in. |

Avg Watts:189w Duration: 6h36m |
| Notes: Long day today. Climbed Caesars Head twice, then Paris Mountain, then made my way down to the Tuesday night training race. Felt horrible in the race and sat on the back, but then my legs all of a sudden revived and I was able to go to the front. I got beat in the sprint at the end, but I felt like I still had a decent kick. |

Avg Watts:188w Duration: 1h56m |
| Notes: Very windy and very hilly circuit race. I covered a bunch of attacks until Thad got away, then made sure nobody chased him down. Towards the end I sat at the back and when he lapped the field I drilled it to the finish so that he could stay away from the other two people who he had just dropped. He finished 2nd. Only 15 people finished this race. |

Avg Watts:175w Duration: 4h06m |
| Notes: Rode my favorite loop today over the watershed and Mt. Olivet. Legs were not feeling good for the entire day and I flatted twice and had to stop at some guys house to grab a patch. |
| Date: 05/06/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:187w Duration: 3h20m |
| Notes: Legs were still tired from the US Air Force race on Sunday. It took me a while to warm up but when they did I felt good in the Tuesday night training race. Made the break and led out the last 3 miles to prevent the cat and mouse games from happening. |

Avg Watts:191w Duration: 1h44m |
| Notes: Spartanburg crit as part of the USA crit series. This was a very dangerous course and there were a lot of crashes through the night. For the first hour I stayed right at the front, but then took a little turn tailgunning. With 8 to go I got behind another crash and had to put in a big chase to regain the back of the pack. Average for the crit was 241 watts despite taking a free lap. |
| Date: 05/01/2008 Description: Criterium |
Avg Watts:221w Duration: 2h18m |
| Notes: Usa Crits series in Greenwood. Race started off tame and I was sitting in the top 30. Towards the end it got really fast and really sketchy as it got dark. I wussed out and started drifting to the back. Not a great race. |

Avg Watts:175w Duration: 3h16m |
| Notes: Moderate riding around for two hours, then hit Paris Mountain three times. First time was good, the two after that I was hurting a bit. It's starting to get hot outside. |

Avg Watts:187w Duration: 1h35m |
| Notes: Group ride in Augusta, GA. I was happy to find a group ride today and we ended up going really hard for an hour. Good speed work. |

Avg Watts:175w Duration: 5h21m |
| Notes: Hilly ride in Asheville with a few friends from Western New York. Probably not the best prep ride for the crit on Saturday. |
| Date: 04/16/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:208w Duration: 4h21m |
| Notes: Repeats of Caesars Head today. Kept it sub threshold and tried to do both time around the same time. Was a minute slower on the second time. As a side note, I love Claritin D. |
| Date: 04/06/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:196w Duration: 4h27m |
| Notes: Last day of team camp. Rode up to the Blue Ridge Parkway twice. Lot of long steady climbing. |

Avg Watts:157w Duration: 4h17m |
| Notes: Another 4+ hour day today. Hit a few good climbs today but wasn't feeling great. Decided to make the last hour and a half pretty easy to rest up for this weekend. Legs are tired. |
| Date: 03/26/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:152w Duration: 3h11m |
| Notes: Paris Mountain repeats. Felt great on the first and third one, but couldn't get anything going for the second time up. |
| Date: 03/25/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:177w Duration: 4h52m |
| Notes: Great ride today. Headed up north and hit a couple good climbs. Tried to keep it a little below threshold and just kept a good rhythm going. Spent the last hour going fairly easy and got home too late to climb Paris mountain like I wanted. |
| Date: 03/22/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:183w Duration: 4h26m |
| Notes: Group ride with a lot of climbing. Spencer and I rode tempo on the front all day and then hit it pretty good on the climbs. I feel rested from taking a few days off the bike and was able to put up one of my peak 5 minute wattages of the year of the first climb. |
| Date: 03/16/2008 Description: Criterium |
Avg Watts:178w Duration: 1h57m |
| Notes: Food Lion Crit in Salisbury. From the gun there were attacks from riders trying to get off the front. I was trying to stay at the front so the move wouldn't go without me. After about 20 minutes the right people got off the front and a group of six of us were in a break. The Time team had missed the break and chased hard to keep it close. They launched a couple riders across to us and then the move was gone for the day. With a few laps to go Richard England and Daniel Ramsey got off the front and I was forced to do a lot of work to try and bring them back. We ended up not bringing them back and I barely missed winning the best of the rest and had to settle for a 4th place.
Average watts for the crit were 252. This is the first test ride with the new iBike aero and I am very satisfied with the performance. Having ridden with other power meters for years, I feel the numbers for this crit are very accurate despite the drafting, turning, surging, wind, and rough roads. |

Avg Watts:200w Duration: 4h59m |
| Notes: Long hilly day. Made my way over to Caesars Head, a 6.4 mile climb. Set a new fastest time for myself going up at 28:45. From there it was a few more good climbs and a quick ride back to try and beat the sunset home. Legs are tired and I am looking forward to a rest week next week. |
| Date: 03/11/2008 Description: Training Ride |
Avg Watts:205w Duration: 4h11m |
| Notes: Started out riding Paris Mountain repeats, then rode down to the Tuesday night training race where I was taking long pulls in the crosswinds and attacking the race all night. Felt great tonight. |

Avg Watts:220w Duration: 4h07m |
| Notes: Donaldson Center Road Race. Thad got away and I stayed at the front of the pack marking any move that would try and bring him back. Ended up winning the field sprint for 6th place. Rode home after the race to get in the extra miles. |
